Welcome to Salfords!
We are delighted to welcome you to Salfords Primary School and look forward to meeting you all. Although we find ourselves in an unprecedented set of circumstances, we are here to support you with your child’s transition into Reception. We want your child to feel fully prepared and confident to transition successfully into Reception. We have set out a comprehensive virtual program on the school website that will hopefully enable both yourselves and your child to feel ready to start school:

You will be able to virtually look round our EYFS provision and meet the class birds “Wren” and “Robin”. You can meet all the friendly faces you will see when you start through our ‘meet the team’ videos and enjoy a story or nursery rhyme from them. Get to know the school, the EYFS curriculum and the day to day running of a Reception classroom through our ‘New EYFS Parent Meeting’ slideshow. We understand that this is a constantly changing and tricky time for all and we endeavour to ensure that yourself and your child feel prepared and relaxed about taking this next step.

At Salfords School we are committed to helping children have the best possible start in life by providing rich learning opportunities. Such opportunities are based around the development of rewarding relationships, which lead to consistently high outcomes for all children from birth to five years in our nursery settings and Reception classes. This includes close working relationships with linked Children’s Centres and multi-agency professionals. We will ensure that the best interests and care of the children come first by providing quality, meaningful, broad and balanced learning opportunities that meet their needs and interests in a context relevant to them as unique individuals who learn in different ways and at different rates.
Children’s experiences in the early years have a major impact on future life chances. Our holistic approach will provide children with the knowledge, skills and abilities to make sense of their world. This will encourage a love of learning which will enable the children to reach their potential and become successful, confident lifelong learners.
